Goodyear's home, a rebuilt beltway and record snow

Serving Summit County

Akron is still Goodyear’s hometown. The tire maker opened its 639,000-square-foot global headquarters here in 2013, connected to its Innovation Center, a 1916 factory turned technical center. A corporate and R&D campus that size needs standby power and fleet fuel.

The highways through town were just rebuilt. ODOT finished its $160 million Akron Beltway project in 2025 after four years of work: 45 lane miles of new pavement, more than 40 bridges repaired, and new ramps at the Central Interchange where I-76, I-77 and State Route 8 meet. About 110,000 drivers a day use it. The new I-76/SR 8 ramps are built for 45 mph instead of 25.

The city has been rebuilding underground too. Its Ohio Canal Interceptor Tunnel, 27 feet wide and 6,240 feet long under downtown, went into full service in June 2020 and holds up to 25.6 million gallons of storm and sewer flow. Sewer and road contracts like these keep excavators, pumps and light towers working across the city.

Heavy snow

Akron-Canton recorded 37.5 inches of snow in January 1978, its snowiest month on record. February 2010 came close at 37.2 inches. Fill generator and equipment tanks before a storm, and switch to winter blend early.

Mobile fueling or bulk delivery: which fits your Akron site?

Three delivery formats. We’ll quote whichever fits your volume, site access and cost target.

Wet-Hose Fueling
Mobile fleet fueling
Overnight or day shift, fuel direct to each tank
A driver pulls into your yard after hours, fuels every truck or piece of equipment directly, logs each fill, and clears out before your crews arrive. No staff required on site.
Best for: Trucking fleets, delivery yards, rental fleets and service vehicles.
Tank Wagon Delivery
On-site tank fills
20 – 4,400 gallons per drop · same-day or scheduled
A smaller delivery truck fills your day tank, jobsite bulk tank or generator. The flexible option when volume varies or site access is tight.
Best for: Construction sites, generator refills, day tanks and smaller bulk storage.
Transport Load
Bulk transport delivery
Full transport loads to 7,500+ gallons · scheduled
Tractor-trailer delivery straight into large bulk storage. The lowest cost per gallon for high-volume buyers.
Best for: Data centers, large industrial sites, agriculture and rail yards.

Akron fuel delivery questions, answered

Do you fuel plants and fleets along the Akron Beltway?
Yes. Mobile fleet fueling fills trucks and yard equipment in your lot overnight or between shifts, and bulk loads fill your own tanks, from 20 to 4,400 gallons per drop or transport loads up to 7,500 gallons.
Can you keep generators fueled through a big Akron snowstorm?
Yes. We schedule top-offs ahead of storms and run 24/7/365 dispatch. Akron-Canton has seen 37.5 inches of snow in a single month, so fill tanks before the storm, not during it.
Do you deliver fuel 24/7 in Akron?
Yes. FuelGo dispatch runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, including nights, weekends and holidays. Call 800-720-4546 any time, or request a quote online and a dispatcher replies within the hour.
