Springfield is a trucking town. Prime Inc., founded in 1970 and headquartered on North Mayfair, runs refrigerated, flatbed, tanker and intermodal freight across the U.S. and Canada. The 2007 ice storm
Forbes once ranked Springfield’s weather the most varied in the country. In January 2007, freezing rain coated the Ozarks. Parts of Missouri saw more than 4 inches of ice.
