B-52s, the Red River port and a 2021 freeze in Shreveport

Serving Caddo Parish, Bossier Parish

Shreveport’s industrial land sits along the Red River. The Port of Caddo-Bossier, about four miles south of the city limits, sits at the head of navigation on the Red River Waterway and covers about 5,000 acres. It is an industrial park and multimodal distribution center with access to I-20 and I-49. Barges, rail and trucks meet there, and so do the generators, forklifts and yard trucks of the tenants.

Across the river, Barksdale Air Force Base is home to the 2nd Bomb Wing and its B-52H Stratofortress bombers. Since 2009 it has also hosted the headquarters of Air Force Global Strike Command. Base contractors and support fleets keep diesel demand steady year-round.

February 2021

In February 2021, a winter storm brought more than eight inches of snow and days of hard freeze to Shreveport. Water mains broke across the city. At the peak, about 30,000 of the system’s roughly 70,000 customers had no water, and some neighborhoods waited about a week or more. Freezes are rare here, which is exactly why tanks, generators and equipment are seldom ready for one. Winter-treated diesel and a full tank before a cold front are cheap insurance.

Mobile fueling or bulk delivery: which fits your Shreveport site?

Three delivery formats. We’ll quote whichever fits your volume, site access and cost target.

Wet-Hose Fueling
Mobile fleet fueling
Overnight or day shift, fuel direct to each tank
A driver pulls into your yard after hours, fuels every truck or piece of equipment directly, logs each fill, and clears out before your crews arrive. No staff required on site.
Best for: Trucking fleets, delivery yards, rental fleets and service vehicles.
Tank Wagon Delivery
On-site tank fills
20 – 4,400 gallons per drop · same-day or scheduled
A smaller delivery truck fills your day tank, jobsite bulk tank or generator. The flexible option when volume varies or site access is tight.
Best for: Construction sites, generator refills, day tanks and smaller bulk storage.
Transport Load
Bulk transport delivery
Full transport loads to 7,500+ gallons · scheduled
Tractor-trailer delivery straight into large bulk storage. The lowest cost per gallon for high-volume buyers.
Best for: Data centers, large industrial sites, agriculture and rail yards.

Yes, for contractor equipment, generators and fleets, subject to the base's access rules. See our military and government page for how we work with installations.
Can you help us prepare for another hard freeze like February 2021?
