Fairfax plants, Argentine Yard and the Kaw in KCK

Serving Wyandotte County

Kansas City, Kansas does its heavy work in the river bottoms. The Fairfax District covers 2,000 acres on a bend of the Missouri River. More than 150 businesses there employ over 10,000 people. GM, Kellogg’s, CertainTeed and Owens Corning all run plants in the district.

GM’s Fairfax Assembly is mid-change. It is retooling to build the Chevrolet Bolt, and a gas-powered Chevrolet Equinox is set to follow in mid-2027. A retooling brings contractors, lifts and temporary power onto a plant site. When the lines restart, suppliers and haulers ramp up with them.

Argentine Yard and the Kaw

In the Argentine district, BNSF’s Argentine Yard spreads across 780 acres. It was built to sort 1,800 cars a day and regularly handles more than 2,000. Switch crews, yard trucks and track equipment work it around the clock.

The rivers are the local risk. On July 13, 1951, the Kansas River breached the levees and flooded the Argentine and Armourdale districts. Sites in the bottoms should keep generator tanks full whenever the rivers run high. Fill them before the crest, while every route is still open.

Three delivery formats. We’ll quote whichever fits your volume, site access and cost target.

Wet-Hose Fueling
Mobile fleet fueling
Overnight or day shift, fuel direct to each tank
A driver pulls into your yard after hours, fuels every truck or piece of equipment directly, logs each fill, and clears out before your crews arrive. No staff required on site.
Best for: Trucking fleets, delivery yards, rental fleets and service vehicles.
Tank Wagon Delivery
On-site tank fills
20 – 4,400 gallons per drop · same-day or scheduled
A smaller delivery truck fills your day tank, jobsite bulk tank or generator. The flexible option when volume varies or site access is tight.
Best for: Construction sites, generator refills, day tanks and smaller bulk storage.
Transport Load
Bulk transport delivery

Kansas City fuel delivery questions, answered

Do you deliver to plants in the Fairfax District?
Yes. We fuel truck fleets, yard tractors and plant equipment on site: dyed off-road diesel for equipment, clear on-road diesel for trucks and DEF on the same visit. Drops run from 20 to 4,400 gallons.
Can you fuel trucks and equipment around the Argentine rail yard?
Yes. Mobile fleet fueling (wet-hosing) fills tractors, yard trucks and track equipment where they park. Give dispatch your gate and entry requirements when you order.
Should sites in Armourdale and Argentine plan fuel around high water?
Yes. On July 13, 1951, the Kansas River breached the levees and flooded both districts. Keep generator tanks topped off when the rivers run high, and ask about fuel polishing if a tank has taken on water.
Do you deliver fuel 24/7 in Kansas City?
Yes. FuelGo dispatch runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, including nights, weekends and holidays. Call 800-720-4546 any time, or request a quote online and a dispatcher replies within the hour.

How much is diesel tax in Kansas?
On-road (clear) diesel in Kansas carries $0.5186 per gallon in combined federal and state taxes and fees, and off-road (dyed) diesel $0.0156 per gallon, as of October 16, 2026. Sales and local taxes are extra where they apply. Using dyed diesel on public roads is illegal. See diesel taxes by state →

Yes. We rent diesel and gasoline tanks from 119 to 17,000 gallons, with pumps, meters and hose fitted, and refills on a schedule. See our fuel tank rental page for sizes.
Do you have smaller trucks for tight sites?
