A harbor power plant, an 1883 ferry and Isaias in Bridgeport

Serving Fairfield County

Bridgeport’s harbor is still an industrial one. PSEG’s Bridgeport Harbor Station retired its last coal unit on May 31, 2021, after 53 years in service. A 485-megawatt gas-fired unit at the same station has replaced it. Maintenance, contractors and heavy equipment keep working on the waterfront around it.

The Bridgeport & Port Jefferson Ferry has crossed Long Island Sound from here since 1883. Its 15-mile route links Bridgeport’s waterfront to Long Island, with boats that carry up to 120 cars each.

Isaias and a slow restoration

Tropical Storm Isaias hit Connecticut on August 4, 2020. Three days later, United Illuminating still had about 52,000 customers without power. State regulators later found UI unresponsive during the storm and ordered a $1,781,470 credit for Bridgeport ratepayers. Seniors and people with disabilities lost elevator access and refrigeration during the multi-day outages.

For apartment towers, senior housing and city facilities, that is the lesson. A generator keeps the elevators and pumps running only as long as its fuel lasts. Fill tanks before hurricane season and have a refill plan for day three.

Mobile fueling or bulk delivery: which fits your Bridgeport site?

Three delivery formats. We’ll quote whichever fits your volume, site access and cost target.

Wet-Hose Fueling
Mobile fleet fueling
Overnight or day shift, fuel direct to each tank
A driver pulls into your yard after hours, fuels every truck or piece of equipment directly, logs each fill, and clears out before your crews arrive. No staff required on site.
Best for: Trucking fleets, delivery yards, rental fleets and service vehicles.
Tank Wagon Delivery
On-site tank fills
20 – 4,400 gallons per drop · same-day or scheduled
A smaller delivery truck fills your day tank, jobsite bulk tank or generator. The flexible option when volume varies or site access is tight.
Best for: Construction sites, generator refills, day tanks and smaller bulk storage.
Transport Load
Bulk transport delivery
Full transport loads to 7,500+ gallons · scheduled
Tractor-trailer delivery straight into large bulk storage. The lowest cost per gallon for high-volume buyers.
Best for: Data centers, large industrial sites, agriculture and rail yards.
