An inland port, a rail ramp and winter inversions in SLC

Serving Salt Lake County

Salt Lake City’s freight growth is on its west side. The Utah Inland Port Authority’s jurisdiction covers about 16,000 acres, most of it in the city’s northwest quadrant. That is roughly a fifth of the city’s land. Warehouses, distribution centers and the crews building them keep pushing west between I-80 and the city limits.

Union Pacific’s intermodal terminal sits two miles south of I-80, just off 5600 West. It covers 260 acres and was designed for 250,000 trailers and containers a year. Drayage tractors, hostlers and container handlers work it daily, and the warehouses it feeds run their own truck fleets.

Inversions put diesel under a lid

In winter, cold air gets trapped under warm air in the Salt Lake Valley, and pollution builds day after day. Utah DEQ says a significant fraction of the area’s NOx comes from heavy-duty vehicles, many of them on the interstates. That puts a spotlight on fleet emissions every inversion season.

For fleets, the practical answer is a working SCR system and DEF that never runs out. Some operators also look at renewable diesel. R99 isn’t available at every terminal; where it can’t be pulled locally, it ships in by rail or barge.

Mobile fueling or bulk delivery: which fits your Salt Lake City site?

Three delivery formats. We’ll quote whichever fits your volume, site access and cost target.

Wet-Hose Fueling
Mobile fleet fueling
Overnight or day shift, fuel direct to each tank
A driver pulls into your yard after hours, fuels every truck or piece of equipment directly, logs each fill, and clears out before your crews arrive. No staff required on site.
Best for: Trucking fleets, delivery yards, rental fleets and service vehicles.
Tank Wagon Delivery
On-site tank fills
20 – 4,400 gallons per drop · same-day or scheduled
A smaller delivery truck fills your day tank, jobsite bulk tank or generator. The flexible option when volume varies or site access is tight.
Best for: Construction sites, generator refills, day tanks and smaller bulk storage.
Transport Load
Bulk transport delivery
Full transport loads to 7,500+ gallons · scheduled
Tractor-trailer delivery straight into large bulk storage. The lowest cost per gallon for high-volume buyers.
Best for: Data centers, large industrial sites, agriculture and rail yards.

Salt Lake City fuel delivery questions, answered

Do you fuel trucks at inland port warehouses in Salt Lake City?
Yes. Mobile fleet fueling (wet-hosing) fuels tractors and yard trucks in your lot after hours, with DEF on the same visit. Drops run from 20 to 4,400 gallons.
Why does DEF matter more during a Salt Lake inversion?
Inversions trap emissions in the valley, and Utah DEQ says a significant fraction of the area's NOx comes from heavy-duty vehicles. SCR systems use DEF to cut NOx, so keep DEF stocked through the winter.
Can you supply construction sites in the northwest quadrant?
Yes. We deliver off-road diesel straight into excavators, loaders and site generators. If the site has no storage, ask about a fuel tank rental.
Do you deliver fuel 24/7 in Salt Lake City?
Yes. FuelGo dispatch runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, including nights, weekends and holidays. Call 800-720-4546 any time, or request a quote online and a dispatcher replies within the hour.
What fuels can you deliver in Salt Lake City?
Clear on-road diesel (ULSD #2), red-dyed off-road diesel, gasoline, diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) and R99 renewable diesel. Most customers combine two or more on the same delivery.
Do you deliver diesel to generators in Salt Lake City?
Yes. Dyed diesel for standby and prime generators, on a refill schedule or as an emergency run during an outage. Generator fueling →
Do you offer mobile fleet fueling in Salt Lake City?
Yes. We wet-hose trucks and equipment in your yard, usually overnight, and log every gallon by unit. Mobile fleet fueling →
Can you deliver bulk diesel to our tanks in Salt Lake City?
Yes. Anything from 20 gallons to a 7,500-gallon transport load, into above-ground, underground or portable tanks. Bulk delivery →
How much fuel can you deliver at once?
Tank wagon deliveries run from 20 to 4,400 gallons per drop, and full transport loads to 7,500 gallons or more for large bulk tanks. Tell us your tank size and usage and we’ll recommend the right format.
How much is diesel tax in Utah?
On-road (clear) diesel in Utah carries $0.6338 per gallon in combined federal and state taxes and fees, and off-road (dyed) diesel $0.0118 per gallon, as of October 16, 2026. Sales and local taxes are extra where they apply. Using dyed diesel on public roads is illegal. See diesel taxes by state →
Do you offer emergency fuel delivery in Salt Lake City?
Yes. If a generator is running low or a site is about to run dry, call 800-720-4546 and a dispatcher will confirm what we can get to you and when.
Can you set up recurring scheduled deliveries?
Yes. Most customers start with a one-time delivery and move to a recurring schedule, so tanks, generators and fleets are topped up before they run low, without anyone having to call it in.
Do you rent fuel tanks?
Yes. We rent diesel and gasoline tanks from 119 to 17,000 gallons, with pumps, meters and hose fitted, and refills on a schedule. See our fuel tank rental page for sizes.
Do you have smaller trucks for tight sites?
Yes. Smaller delivery trucks reach tight urban sites, parking structures and jobsites where a full-size tanker can’t fit.
What payment options do you accept?
Credit cards, ACH and checks. Credit terms are available for qualifying commercial accounts. Ask your dispatcher for details.
