Manchester’s freight moves through its airport. Amazon Air, FedEx and UPS handled more than 238 million pounds of cargo at Manchester-Boston Regional Airport in 2025, a record. The 2008 ice storm
On December 11, 2008, freezing rain coated New Hampshire. At the peak, more than 322,000 PSNH customers were without power, the most in the utility’s history. The last customers were not restored until December 24, two weeks later. A generator tank sized for one night would have been refilled many times over. Ice storms come in the cold, so winter-blend diesel and a full tank go in before the season starts.
